Default Aruba Trip Report

Just returned from 10 days/9 nights in Aruba. I know, I know, I know
there are better places to dive(I've been there), but I did get wet:)

Flew from NY to Aruba non-stop on AA not bad, first time I flew to
Caribbean at 11:30am versus
6:00am. that was a plus. Duty free in NY obligatory bottle of Vodka for
cocktails on the verandah
Taxi to Hotel was $20 plus tip. We stayed at Divi Phoenix, nice rooms in
tower. Our room was on the 8th floor overlooking both the sea and
another view to town. First night we ate at Phoenix's restaurant, too
tired to try anything else.
Sat AM trek down beach to checkout prices at different dive shops. Based
on customer interaction and price we decided on Unique Sports which is
located at Aruba Grand . They told us if we left open credit card ,
price per dive would be based on how many dives. Cheapest was $20 a tank
if we had 16 or greater dives. Scaling up with less dives. One of my
dive buddies and I got in 16 dives. Signed up for afternoon dive which
departed at 2:30pm , scheduled dive was Pedernales, wasn't much of a
dive, but by 4:00pm we had our first hour of diving(did i say it was
shallow:) max. 25'. but for first dive it was fine. Dove Sonesta
Airplane, Harbor Reef, Blue Reef,Malmok Airplane,
Depalm Slope, Dark Mangroves, Tugboat Wreck, Antilla Wreck, Jane Sea
Freighter, Barcader Reef.
Dives ranges from 25-85'
Favorite dive Antilla Wreck 60' max. sunk 194x, great coral along with 3
morays.
Again, diving is better on Bonaire, Curacao, Belize, Cozumel, but i did
get wet.

Restaurants, Gaucho's , Driftwood and several others.
all pretty good.

Anyone that has specific question be glad to answer.

Fred
