It's not so much the camera as the housing, and the external lenses for the housing. The Oly C4040 and C5050 are pretty well supported. But you can find Tetra and Ikelite cases for a lot of cameras. Add on flash units and such, and you could be looking at $1500, maybe, not including the price of whatever camera. It's expensive. |

What settings do you use? Anything special with the housing? Did you pop for an external strobe? TIA, Dave |

The newer Oly Stylus 300 and 400 models are also well supported - I just got one myself along with the Oly housing. > It's expensive. No kidding. -Eric |

I had a Canon Powershot G2 digital camera which I wanted to use for underwater. in November, I got an Ikelite housing, DS100/sensor strobe package, and fast-charger for the strobe for about $1400 with shipping. I've put about 50 dives on it so far and have been very happy with it. It was expensive, but now that I have it, the cost-per-use will eventually make it seem not so outrageous. (: |

| One or two places seem to be doing the housing for the Olympus Mju cameras (300 and 400) for about £60 - so you could probably get a 3mp camera and housing for £300 or so.
