The only place I snorkelled was on the western side of island called lovers
cove or something like that - it's a gravel beach with a wooden deck with
chairs etc set up, really nice spot to watch sunsets. Activities staff do a
fish feed there, the kids will love it - just bring some sandals or
something you don't mind getting wet, the gravel is not comfortable
barefoot.

Default Any diving off daydream island

I'm going to Daydream Island for the big family thing and was wondering is
there is any diving off the actual island ( none of the people I speak to at
the resort can tell or help me ) or do you have to go out to the reef.
Couldn't be bothered to get the boat out to the reef so if not I will enjoy
myself snorkel sucking with my kids and not bother taking BCD etc etc

thanks in advance

I was there last year & I did see people doing shore dives there. I don't
remember the cost. They all seemed to be guided dives by someone from the
watersports hut/dive store. I'm surprised that nobody is able to tell you
about it, there is an activity desk right there in the foyer. I took the
Fantasea boat to the reef & did a dive there, but it was pretty crowded with
all the "try a dive" people, only 6 certified divers.

By the way the island is a very family friendly place, there were lots of
kids, families etc. Enjoy.
