| I'm heading to the Bahamas on a cruise, is it worth it to dive there? My friend just came back last week, they said it was cold there. The cruise is stopping at Grand Stirrup Cay and Nassau. Don't want to lug all my gear if it's not good. Thanks, |

| You should do a dedicated dive trip to the Bahamas..maybe some place like the Berry Islands or Eleuethra (sp.?) or Long Island (not the New York one), or perhaps even Bimini. Three or four days would be enough at any one place. Otherwise, you'd be repeating the dive sites. Skip the cruise. I was on the Nekton Rorqual's Southern Bahamas cruise on Nov 29 to Dec 6, diving around Conception Island and San Salvador. The water temperature was a consistant 82 degrees. We had crappy weather, but underwater was just fine. Saw a lot of hammerheads around San Sal, for what that's worth... I've dived all over the Bahamas, and found great (and diverse) diving everywhere. In any case, there's no better place to be than in the warm sea when the air temps are cool and the wind is blowing! -- Remove preceding and trailing X from username for replies (Sorry, but I'm SICK of spam...) |
