For diving, I have used Nassau Scuba Centre
http://www.nassau-scuba-centre.com/ and have been happy with them. I
know others who have been happy with Stuart Cove also.

If you want a quiet laid back place, the Orange Hill Beach Inn is good.
If you want to be closer to more restaurants and nightlife, stay on
Cable Beach. Transportation from the Orange Hill to Cable Beach or town
can get expensive at night.

Either dive shop will pick you up from just about any hotel on the
island and take you back after diving.

I was very disapointed with Bahama Divers in Nassau. They mix you with
snorkelers so one of the dives is very shallow. I wouldn't go back again. I
regret not staying on the other side of the island and diving with Stuart
Cove's.
