Default Safe Shore Dive in Christchurch area.

Can somebody suggest a relatively easy shore dive (less than 10m) in or
around the Christchurch, Dorset area.

I've had a look through Dive Dorset and everywhere seems to be boat
launching points, as opposed to 'dump gear on sand, walk in' points.

Any suggestions?

I wish to introduce a friend to British waters (ha ha ha!!!) and have booked
a long weekend in the New Forest, so this would be the ideal oppourtunity to
put her of UK diving.

TIA

Swanage Pier, Kimmeridge Bay or Lulworth Cove, but they are not that near.

Swanage Pier is a nice easy dive and not that far if you go on the
chain ferry. Alternatively I was down on the Hurst Spit a while ago
and the water was mirror calm. Looked very inviting for a dive. Not
sure if ther is much down there but there quite a few fishermen so
there must be some life.

Anyone dived here (On the spit facing the needles)?

You mean by Hurst Castle? The currents are vicous there,
it doesn't look a very safe place to dive to me.

I didn't mean right on the tip of the spit. Somewhere along the
shingle bank facing the Needles inside Christchurch Bay. Just
wondered what it was like. I'm sure Swanage pier would be the best
option, though.
