Default afflicted by the "green-eyed monster!"

there are some on this diving board who are afflicted by the "green-eyed
monster!"

No, it is not a creature from the deep! It is a creature that lies in
the heart of man...it is called jealousy!

Shakespeare in "Otello" speaks of it when Iago says".

"Jealousy... that green-eyed monster that mocks the very meat that it
feeds upon."

You know the routine..."green with envy!"

That helps explain the often "mocking tone" of Greg's posts here.

I can hardly wait to hear this one. Who is it you think Greg envies?

And has -he- started any threads about -you- yet, Daniel?

It's Spring, isn't it?

Do the Rec.scuba rules pertaining to Hero Worship apply here?

Just curious.

I think being worshipped in .locations would be an elite
accomplishment, a tier above mere rec.scuba worship, due to the
usually more secular yet sacred nature of the group (even Bob
occasionally refused to rant here). It's definitely something to
inspire jealousy.

It could be that Greg was traumitized by watching an old movie "Typhoon"
[1937] on late night TV...

....maybe you've heard of it?

That's the one where John Hall and Dorothy Lamour were tied to a palm tree
together in the hope of surviving the storm!

What's wrong with that?

The guys we rescued off Koh Tachai after the tsunami had survived by
holding onto trees. I bet they wished they had rope.

"Jealousy," I love that song! Who's it by, Natalie Merchant, I think.

Hey, just the guy I wanted to hear from. I've got you two free adult
admissions to the Maui Ocean Center a week from today, plus 50% off
for the kids. All you have to do is hop over to Maui and meet us at
the Ocean Center front door by 8 a.m. We're going diving in the tank
with their new tiger shark.

We're connecting in HNL on our way in Thursday night, so look for my
wave!

(After the shark dive on Friday morning, we're doing a dusk/night 2-
tank dive that night, a 2-tank Lanai dive on Saturday morning, and a 1-
tank scooter dive to a manta cleaning station on Saturday afternoon.
My cousin's wedding is on Sunday and we're heading to their BBQ on
Saturday night, so that's all the diving we can fit it in before we
leave )

I'm afraid we will have to decline. The wife and I just got back from
4 days on Lana'i and that took care or our travel budget for quite
some time. What a great island but mind boggling expensive.

I thought 95% of it was planted in pineapples. Sounds great if you
like pineapples, I guess. That's too bad about your travel budget,
but precisely why I was offering free admission. Can't you get a
kamaina rate on the air fare? I can try to help you crash the wedding
for free food, and you can sleep on the beach or on my lanai.

Do you realize how frustrating it is to have free tickets to the Ocean
Center and not be able to give them away? Maybe I'll offer them to
Daniel Kessler.
