I don't know why the Sunbreeze is Bay Adventures top pick for divers. Sure
it's a nice enough place and has one of the better pools in San Pedro, but
the rooms are just rooms, whereas there are many, many other places that are
suites or kitchenettes for the same price or better.

Also, AquaDives is not one of the better operators despite it's relationship
with Sunbreeze.

I'll give a second vote to Magnum too.

Then Dick, I'll also tell you that you can do most of the booking yourself
with a little research and be perfectly happy. A number of the hotels give
a discount if you book directly with them. This saves them the travel agent
commission and administration of that payment, so they might just as well
book directly with you for less than posted rates.

Once you arrive, you can go around to the various dive ops and pick the one
you like. Then you can pay as you go instead of being tied to a package in
case something happens (weather, sinus, ears) etc. that keep you from doing
all of your booked dives.

For example, if you set it up with Amigos del Mar when you first arrive,
they will make you a deal to discount your dives if you end up diving 10+
dives with them. This should also result in you getting a discount on the
Blue Hole and/or Turneffe day trips.

I went over Valentine's day last year. Booked my room(2 bedroom
apartment, actually), with Banyan Bay directly (www.banyanbay.com),
used their on-site guy to book our cave tubing trip when we got there,
booked my dives directly with Chilly's favorite, amigos del mar (close
enough - you'll find them), and booked my airfare directly with
Continental. Hope this helps.
