Default diving in belize

I'm thinking about going down to Belize to scuba dive. During the days I
won't be diving, I would like to visit some decent Mayan ruins. Does
anybody know how far or how long it takes to get to decent ruins from the
prime scuba diving areas in Belize?

Both Atun Ha and Lamanaii can be done in day trips out of Belize. With Atun
Ha, you generally get a trip to the Belize Zoo too, I think, with lunch at
Maruba Spa.

If you want to go to Tikal in a day trip, I belive Tropic Air runs one.
It's quite a bit more expensive, of course, due to taking the plane.

Sorry, that should say "Ambergris Caye" not "Belize".
