Default St. Croix

Hello, all ...

Looking for a nice resort in St. Croix, optimally with expansive beach,
readily available snorkeling and diving (preferably shore-based), and
child-friendly (one three-year-old) ... recommendations would be much
appreciated ... going in early November .. potential dive buddies needed as
well ..

In same vein, has anyone heard anything lately about the emergence of
petty crime on the island (I ask because I read a post on another scuba
newsgroup which mentioned this)?

Thanks in advance ..

Suggest checking Waves at Cane Bay. It was good many years ago-don't know
about now. A small beach and some shore diving at the resort, and Cane Bay
Berach and wall about a mile or so away. Just walk in and swim out.

I agree with checking out the Waves...owner is a dive master & does
tours of Cane Bay Wall (3300 foot wall about 100 yards off shore). A
little bit up road is Cane Bay Dive Shop right across street from Cane
Bay Beach which is a great entry for shore diving. About a 10 minute
kick out to a 40ft drop to top of wall. I worked there for about a
year & am kinda partial.. they have since expanded to 2 more shops on
the island & are definitely the best. also have boat dives available
if interested in vistiting the wrecks. More high-end would be
Carambola Beach Resort just down from Cane Bay. They have an on-site
shop which is very well-run & diving from the shore there is just as
easy, although not as much marine life as Cane Bay Beach. check out

you'd like more info. Have a great time!:) Kimberly
