Bulgaria - Black Sea diving

Hi

Has anyone had any experience of any dives in Bulgaria. I'm going there in
August this year but can't find much about diving. Is it called the Black
Sea for a reason, like you can't see anything?

Any info would be appreciated

Hi Andy,

Black Sea is quite interesting, despite its descouraging name (is called
thus because the Turks wanted to differentiate the Mediterranean "the
White sea" from the Black Sea - more strormy).

For Bulgaria, I would suggest Rusalka - stony bottom, small islands, and
around Varna. There is a lot of wreck diving as well. See what diving
centers can offer.

Also consider south Romania (Vama Veche marine reserve) - only 50 km
North of Varna.
