Well, thank you for that . . I think.

If you were to google back to when the little basshole first showed up here
(in Canada), IIRC, all of us cheeseheads, or whatever you choose to call us,
said, NO, he needs to go home and face the consequences of being a whining
little namby pamby shit.

Just because we are a bit more pacifistic up here doesn't mean that we
believe in dereliction of duty or running from responsibility.

Hey, he signed on the dotted line, took the money, made the deal.

Now, to cover his own cowardice after fleeing his duty, he makes
allegations of atrocities.

5 years hard labor for desertion of a combat post and treason, a
Dishonerable, and citizenship revoked.

Don't thank me. It is what it is, what it is.

Someone should punish his parents. ;^)

The little basshole.

Sounds reasonable to me, except for the last. You guys keep him.

Absolutely. If they take his citizenship he might try to come here
again.

Big difference between desertion and dodging a draft.

the difference being? I see none. Besides which draft would he be dodging?

I realized he deserted

Really?

You sign up to serve your country in a military force, get paid for it,
then desert when asked to do something within your job description that
you don't happen to like,

or,

you are compelled to serve your country, including killing people in a
foreign war whether you agree with what your country is doing or not.
Little choice in the matter.

No difference, eh?

> Besides which draft would he be dodging?

Historical reference relating to our tolerance for harbouring people
that don't agree with government policies. Lots of y'all decided Canada
looked pretty attractive during the Vietnam war. I suspect a good many
of those people were familiar with the difference between deserting
from voluntary service and being drafted.

Excellent. Any draft age kids?

No, once we throw him out in probably 20 years time after he's
exhausted all his appeals and spent millions of our precious taxpayer
dollars, you get to keep him, he's your problem. No one else wants him.

Personally I support shooting deserters. Solves a number of problems
all at once and encourages anyone thinking about deserting to get with
the program.

TORONTO (March 25) - A U.S. Army paratrooper who refused to fight in Iraq
has found no refuge north of the border.

Jeremy Hinzman was denied political asylum in Canada on Thursday, a ruling
that dealt a blow to other deserters here who argue such duty would force
them to commit atrocities against civilians.

An immigration board ruled that Hinzman had not convinced its members he
would face persecution or cruel and unusual punishment if returned to the
United States.

Do you agree with the Canadian ruling?
