I had the good fortune to do most of my dive training with John,
and then to work with him as a divemaster for a few years. I'll
always remember the fun we had and how much work he'd put in
to ensure that everyone who he taught came away as safe and
competent divers and that they really felt that they'd
acheived something. He was always willing to sit around and chat
about anything diving related and never made you feel that just
because he'd been diving for years that he knew everything.

My thoughts go out to his partner and kids - they were the one
thing more important to him than diving.


John, wherever you are, I hope the water's are warm and clear,
and the beer's cold. Cheers buddy.

He may have been wrong about flying, but I agree with the idea of mastering the basics
first.

Well, what does it really has to do with the death of that person? I haven't heard that nes before and he is a very good diver indeed as people have said. But I guess, if it's your time it's your time and no one not even experts can escape that fact.

Learning the basics is really very important indeed. Learning is a step by step process.
