| I received the following message regarding a natural gas off loading pipeline proposed for Port Everglades. From the look of it, it will run across the reef and then be suspended underwater some 8 to 10 miles off shore. The proposal indicates it will be roughly 100 feet below the surface except when in use. There is a public hearing on this as shown in the following information. I will not be able to attend the meeting due to a conflict with a meeting for the Winterfest Boat Parade. The message came with the proposal attached. If you'd like a copy, just ask, but be sure to ask from a legitimate e-mail address. Lee _______________________________________________ Hello SEFCRI stakeholders, The US Coast Guard and the Maritime Administration are holding a public meeting to receive comments prior to preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the CALYPSO liquid natural gas pipeline (LNG) , LLC, (Calypso) license application (see attached file). The meeting will be held on December 6th, 2006 6.30pm at the Ft Lauderdale Marriott. You may also provide written comments until December 21st. I thought that was why they wanted them there in the first place. Otherwise, they'd have been looking somewhere like west Texas where you never have to worry about a shortage of wind. |

I suspect that they were wanting to get the winds off the ocean, but the hot air from the Kennedy compound was coming from the other way and screwed it up... |
