Default Re: Diving in Croatia - recomendations please

Sorry, can't offer much help on Dubrovnic but I dived last summer
(September) in Croatia's "Hvar", a popular holiday island off coast of Split
(North of Dubrovnic). The visability was fantastic and we dived in 3mm
wetsuits so plenty warm enough.

We saw some excellent wrecks and good cave dives too. Only complaint was
general lack of sealife!! It was no Red Sea. However, after diving mainly
UK lakes, it felt like I was in the tropics out there! You will need to pay
around a tenner for a diver's license which is a minor irritation.

Unfortunately, you will be miles away from the Kornati National Park which
is by far the most rewarding place to dive. However, wherever you dive
there will beat Stoney Cove any day.

Cheers
Russ

Have not dived that far south, but we were in Trogir and Splitt last year
around the same time, perhaps a bit earlier. Air temperature was 21°C, water
temperature was 14°C at 25m. A 7mm was ok for me, although I would have
preferred it a little warmer.
