I don't think so. Never did like driving without a roof over my head. On
L.A. freeways, one needs all the protection one can get. Statistics show
you're more likely to get shot on L.A. freeways than in a presidential
motorcade. Not to mention that the one big accident I've had since I moved
back down here was during a vice-presidential motorcade, when Al Gore
stopped the westbound lanes of I-10 so his entourage could get through. Of
course the eastbound lanes came to halt as well, as drivers checked to see
what all the fuss was about on the other side. The guy behind me,
unfortunately, didn't stop. He had dropped his hardhat and was fishing
around for it on the floor of his truck, and noticed just a bit too late
that all the other cars weren't moving. I heard the squeal of the braking
tires of the heavy F-350 and saw the rapidly approaching truck fill my rear
view mirror, then an impact. Surrounded by the smoke and smell of the
deployed airbags, I thought I had gone straight to hell.

But Al still got my vote.
