Yeah, they have been really popular around here as well. No snot, no puking, no clean-up. If they don't comply, give 'em a couple more seconds until they do. Only downside is if the bad guy manages to break or pull the wires. |

Cleared out the sinuses. Hmmmm....maybe I should take a shot or two of that stuff before I dive. Maybe equalize a little better. |

I figured that all of them were pretty much the same. Interestingly, we had a news reporter doing a story on them show up yesterday. She did an interview with our "Taser trainer", show how they work on a specially designed target (muck like aluminum foil... it's a pretty neat demonstration) and we managed to talk her and her cameraman into taking a (very) short hit. IT was pretty amusing. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see the final report. I'd guess that the video of them getting shocked gets cut. |

Do you guys still use PR24's or ASP batons? |

It wasn't a very pretty sound though. The really interesting thing is that we got both of them at the same time. They linked arms and each got a lead clipped to their clothes. I'm pretty sure she didn't enjoy the experience, but she does have the ability to say that she was the only one of all the reporters who have done stories that was willing to take a hit. I don't imagine she'll be volunteering for that aain anytime soon though. > > Do you guys still use PR24's or ASP batons? Use? Not really. Carry? yep. IIRC, all the officers carry the collapsible batons. I can't recall hearing of anyone using one in quite a while. Of course, I can't recall hearing of anyone actually using a taser yet either. We've had them for about 6 months now. Some of the officers like the extra option. I'm a civilian employee, so I don't use or carry any of this stuff. As a matter of fact, I'm not even allowed to carry a firearm into the building. That's not a big problem for me since I don't even have a firearm yet and it's not like I'd have to wait a long time for the police to show up if I needed them. |
