How fucking stupid is this lawyer to pull this before the election? If he'd
waited, his odds would improve from non-existent to hopeless.

I find this most amusing. The attorney arranges a plea bargain. The
attorney and defendant both agree to the terms of the bargain and now they
think it's unfair for the defendant to have to do what he agreed to.

If they feel that way, I think it's only right for everybody to start over
again. Let's reinstate all the charges and let the trial begin. 20 years
is a bit long to spend as a result of the crimes. It should be possible to
form a firing squad much quicker than that.
