| Apparently, CBS really fucked up Wednesday. An "overzealous" producter broke into the last five minutes of CSI: New York with news that AraFat had died. They are reairing the episode tonight. Since I already had two shows going on the DVR, I couldn't record it. So I get to see it after all. More people cared about the end of a TV show than the end of a terrorist. -- dillon "When the French are against it, you know we can't be far wrong." - Adm. Bobbie Ray Inman |

The networks always confuse our need to hear the latest news with their need to beat the other networks. Whichever network I was watching when TWA 800 went down interrupted the show to say they had "an unconfirmed report that a plane may have gone down" or something similar. Maybe it's just my cynicism, but I parsed it as "we think we have a news story, and later on we'll tell you if we're right". -- Steve The above can be construed as personal opinion in the absence of a reasonable belief that it was intended as a statement of fact. My wife was mad that the wife didn;t get any of his money - well we found out she is left pretty well of financially. I was always taught to speak well of the dead, so Arafat is dead, GOOD! |

| Now watch the media drag this out ad naseum, the way they did Generalissimo Francisco Franco. (He's still dead, isn't he?) "GWB" <gwb3483@aol.compost> wrote in message > > Damn right! They couldda waited five minutes; Arafat would still be dead. |

I think it's slap-assed hysterical that America's mainstream chief reaction to Scumbag Arafat's death was that it interrupted a popular TV program.
