| http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/...obe/index.html "In the video, a Marine was seen noticing that one of the men appeared to be breathing. A Marine approached one of the men in the mosque saying, "He's [expletive] faking he's dead. He's faking he's [expletive] dead." The Marine raised his rifle and fired into the apparently wounded man's head, at which point a companion said, "Well, he's dead now." " |

Sure wasn't much of an outrage when they behead innocent civilians, but then you have to remember the politics of the news groups promoting it. |

" So perhaps the terrorists will realize that faking being wounded is a bad thing, and they should stop doing that. Kind of like there've been several isntances where the terrorists would fake a surrender, then open fire when the coalition troops woild move in. Perhaps there would be less outrage of the Marine had chosen to decapitate the wounded man? After all, these chaps seem to find that acceptable, right? We always hear about how our actions will "anger the Arab street". No one seems to care how what the terrorists do would affect us. Now we see it. It is a shame - after all the chap has pretty much ruined his life. Dennis |

" Was it an oversight on your part where you left out this part of the article? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Marine in the videotape has been removed from his unit and taken to the headquarters of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, and the Navy's Criminal Investigative Service said it plans to question one of the other wounded Iraqis as part of the probe, according to the pool reporter embedded with the unit. "Let me make it perfectly clear: We follow the law of armed conflict and we hold ourselves to high standard of accountability," Marine Lt. Gen. John F. Sattler said Tuesday. "The facts of this case will be thoroughly pursued to make an informed decision and to protect rights of all persons involved." The investigation will determine whether the Marine violated any rules or should be charged with any crime. Lt. Col. Bob Miller, a staff judge advocate for the 1st Marine Division, said wounded insurgents who pose no threat generally "would not be considered hostile." __________________________________________________ _________________________ These 3 paragraphs alone are what separate "us" from "them". How many terrorists kidnappers do you think have been "investigated" by their organizations and held accountable for the beheading murders of civilian non-combatants? -- "I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying that I approved of it." ”- Mark Twain |

One less person shooting at our troops. Next time, don't fake it. But then, didn't Kerry do something like that? Shoot a wounded kid running? |
