Default Dive tables in class

Doesn't one of the agencies skip tables now, or make them optional?

The only working atomic bomb platforms the
Japanese ever had were delivered via airmail.

Winter is ahead.
They need ice scrapers.

Really? They didn't skip the tables when I took the class 3 years ago or
when I retook the class about a year ago. It's possible that they might
leave it up to the instructor these days though.

SDI requires the use of a dive computer for their OW class -- and if I
remember correctly does not use tables at all... but I could be mistaken.

That was my recollection, but it dates back a while. As I understand it,
Brett no longer has SDI/TDI. It's hard to keep up with who's doing what
these days.

When I was certified through SDI in 2000, we were required to use a computer
but the instructor spent a short time on the tables.

Sorry to hear that. I suggest you brush up on your tables a bit. Most of
us find them kind of important as we move closer to the technical end of
recreational diving.

SDI has their students use computers exclusively. No tables at all. IMHO it
is kind off like driving a car without having any idea of why the gas gauge
does what it does.

Not to play devil's advocate, but how is this really different from
most drivers on the road?
