| Last week, there were two couples on who had an incredible amount of new equipment. Not new as in the latest and greatest, but new as in it was in the box on Saturday and on the boat on Thursday. They had never used it, got in late Wenesday and didn't do a shore dive so Thursday was their first time using it. After struggling to set it up (I shuddered and prayed they weren't in my group), they all decided they didn't like the hose setup. So they asked the DM to change the hoses! He didn't have the right wrenchs on board, but, like a fool, I did. So I helped him change over the hoses (like a fool). Then they asked for help on turning on their computers (and I started to cry). Then one of the women started complaining that her mask didn't "fit right". So someone helped her tighten the mask. Fortunately, they were in the other group of six. I was solo (Carol was having ear problems), so the DM said "I you buddy". I laughed. He let me dive my own profile, but got impatient when I had more air then he did at the end of the second dive. The newbies (did I say that this was the first dives since cert for one couple?) were up in less than 30 on both dives. The best comment came from the DM who told me he'd share his tip with me after we re-did the regulators. I knew he was joking, and said "No propina por yo". To which he replied in English "and no tip for me, either" and then "smiled". I could rant more, especially since I'm back to cold and rainy. I just wish they had put all the virgins together on one boat. But, other than that, it was a great trip. -- dillon "When the French are against it, you know we can't be far wrong." - Adm. So someone helped her tighten the mask. No good deed goes unpunished. You've spent too much time here. You simply can't help helping the clueless. > Fortunately, they were in the other group of six. Happens to rec.scuba regulars all the time, well some rec.scuba regulars. > The newbies (did I say that this was the first dives since cert for > one couple?) were up in less than 30 on both dives. No surprise there. > I could rant more, especially since I'm back to cold and rainy. I > just wish they had put all the virgins together on one boat. I wouldn't mind newbies on the boat except that boats with newbies generally go to newbie sites and those are rarely the sites I travel to see. > But, other than that, it was a great trip. Glad you had a good time. When you planning to visit S. Florida? Lee |

You should always try to end such reports like: But that was on another great trip Matthias |
