| Dear Joe, Lately you started an amusing thread in this forum with the question: "I can only imagine the world outrage if this had happen in the USA!" Well, you can put this burning problem to rest. This morning at Schiphil Airport we received a bomb (the bogus variety) from Newark, USA, and it provoked no more then some superficial comment in the news, so understated that I nearly missed it. Sorry, no outrage. Not here. -- HES van Schoonhoven Life is a learning experience |

| Joe English wrote, on the lack of outrage about american bombs coming through: > only because it happened to the french first! Dear Joe, you're missing the point! As I wrote in the other string, we, the dutch, were so far ahead of the french in this stuff, that we could not see them, looking over our shoulders. Dutch Airport security already lost a training device late in 2001, early in 2002, if I remember well. Mind you, at a time the dust of 9/11 hadn't even settled. So no outrage, overhere. What really galls me is that the world seems to think that the Phoney French are the original inventors. They should have learned from us, but they didn't, just like you But I bet, this is not the first, not the last and most certanly not the worst. Let's start a string on Doing It Right, as in Airpot Security. No bungeed secondairies there. -- HES van Schoonhoven Life is a learning experience "Joe English" <jenglish@wisperhome.com> schreef in bericht news:21195$41c2279e$ce504905$5526@allthenewsgroups .com... > HES van Schoonhoven wrote: > >> Dear Joe, >> >> Lately you started an amusing thread in this forum with the question: >> >> "I can only imagine the world outrage if this had happen in the USA!" >> >> Well, you can put this burning problem to rest. >> This morning at Schiphil Airport we received a bomb (the bogus variety) >> from Newark, USA, and it provoked no more then some superficial comment >> in the news, so understated that I nearly missed it. >> >> Sorry, no outrage. >> Not here. >> > only because it happened to the french first! |

I'm afraid whenever our federal government gets involved the chance of DIR is a SFC (Slim Fucking Chance). What pisses me off about security at the airports is that it is solving nothing. They will stop some little old lady with a hairpin, and let the dangerous shit walk by. If they are going to stop us before getting on a plane -then make it worh our while - check everyone thoroughly |

Oh, cool. Everybody hates the French. Popeye The only working atomic bomb platforms the Japanese ever had were delivered via airmail. |

Dear everybody. I grew up within a few miles of Miami International Airport. My father was an FBI Agent here in S. Florida. When there was a bomb scare, he got the call. He got called out at 3:00 AM about once a month. These incidents also failed to make it to the media. Things changed in 2001 and the media changed with them. Now, if the media gets it, everybody gets it. Lee |

We know them as a somewhat stuck-up people, with a barely concealed superiority complex and an inclination to the grandiose. They invented the word 'Chauvinst' ... .... and thought it wasn't a bad name to be called. But hey, I don't have to go all the way to France to meet lots of people like that. All we have to wait for, now, is the French, lurking in this forum, writing their testimonial of the Dutch. Let's hear it. The Dutch? The guys who would start a meeting by remarking "My! That's a terrible suit you are wearing today! Did you actually buy it?" The guys who speak a language that makes German sound musical by comparison? Or did you mean the pot-smoking pimps? Cheers, Froggy |
