will try to double in size as you go up in the water."'

So nitrogen and stone fish won't really hurt you? Good to know. I was
surprised to learn that my lungs double in size as I go up in the water,
however. We learned, obviously incorrectly, that it was the gas inside the
lungs that was "doubling in size".

"The students also learn to read dive tables, which list the depth and
duration for which a diver can stay under the water. The body of water, the
temperature of the water, the clarity of the water and the size of the
oxygen tank all make a difference."

Teaching stage decompression at the basic level? Good for them.

I know the Washington Times has a reputation for accuracy. And what a
fascinating article that basically sells a dive shop's classes and how
thoughtful of you to repost it here as we love to read advertisements.
