FYI: I just got this from Canon product support on 2005.08.04... [SNIP] Thank you for contacting Canon product support. We have no information as to when or if an underwater housing will be available for the PowerShot S2 IS. We hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions or concerns. Sincerely, Matthew Technical Support Representative [/SNIP] So, it looks like my choices for a 10+ zoom digital camera that has an available underwater housing are: 1. Stick with my C2100-UZ and try to find a ewa-marine D-CAM bag 2. Olympus C-765 or C-770 (hate the batteries - that's my main dislike) 3. Wait and see (my cruise is leaving soon!) 4. Go with the S1 SI (but that's a step backwards) Any other options?

Hi, I currently have the S1 IS with the underwater housing. Both photo and video works great with no issues in focusing and exposure. The "lack of news" on the S2 IS underwater case and the use of SD media was the main reason I decided not to upgrade from my S1. I currently use a Seagate 5GB ST1 and it works really well! I am now also using a Sandisk 4GB Ultra II and will eventually switch to it as prices on flash have come down. ....Mike

You might take a look at the Canon Powershot A95. It's 5MP, has an underwater shooting mode and an underwater housing available.
