Default New to Group and Scuba.

Hey guys,

I just finished the Padi book and video today. Starting classes week from
Monday. Any suggestions on what to do so I don't forget anything for the
written test. I am so worried I won't pass. Is there a place on the internet
where you can take tests over and over?

I can't wait to get to Florida to the nice warm water. I hate the water here
in California. I know it's not to cold for most people but for me it's to
COLD.

Welcome to the group.

The written test is pretty easy. Concentrate on your in-water
skills.

And the diving is great here in SoFla.

Don't worry - the test is simple. Most people, provided they have read
the book and seen the video, get 100%. Even if you get questions wrong
you don't fail - your instructor just has to cover the material with you
to make sure you understand it.

Good advice, although some people aren't particularly "mechanically
inclined", and thus struggle with the written test.

If Laurel had Physics in high school (and passed) and thought that the
book was a pretty easy & straightforward read, then PADI OW test will be
a piece of cake.

The only caution I would note would be the potential for getting tripped
up on "trick" questions...keep an eye out for weird phrasing & if you
see it, read the question more carefully so that you don't get mislead
by what they're really asking for. They had to do something in order to
try to make people miss some questions.

It certainly is a lot more pleasant than those places where you have to
wear a thick suit & weightbelt...up here in NJ, the surface water temps
are pretty nice, but the bottom's water temps are still around 50F.

BTW, is the back doing better?

Thanks everyone.

No I didn't do very well in school, and that was so very long ago to!
That is why I am so worried.

I quit smoking in April and this is my award. I love to snorkel so I have to
try, I know I would love diving.
