Mark Goldblatt?

"'A salaam aleichem, in the name of Allah, the merciful, the compassionate,
the one true God. Yo, yo, yo, I'd like to send a shout out to my people, to
my kings and queens. You know what I'm saying? My kings and queens. Yo, and
a special shout out to my soldiers, my niggas in arms, the One-Forty-Ninth
Street Crew-vagina findas, no doubt. Crazy mad dawgs! I got nothing but love
for you....'"

That's a quote from his book Africa Speaks, which satirizes black people.
I'm sure black people love to be satirized by conservative white males.
Since they aren't allowed to have crosses burnt on their lawns or be lynched
by white guys wearing pillowcases, they obviously are starved for attention.
Thank you Mark Goldblatt for braving the liberals and colored folk who call
you a racist, so you can enlighten us all about how funny black people are
from the white man's perspective. And thank you Scott, for delivering us
yet more wisdom from such an enlightened white guy.

This is a sweet (and typical) liberal spin, but the game is up.

We're not discussing Mark Goldblatt's message, we're discussing the Bitch
in the Ditch, who sounds more and more like Fishbreath's clone every day.

Did you have a comment as to any of her statements?

Oh this is rich;

Seems Gregs impotent attempt at attacking Goldblatt's character is also, as
usual, wholly dishonest.

The quote is indeed from the book, but the book is a series of interviews,
not Goldblatts words;

*****************************************
http://markgoldblatt.com/africa%20sp...%20speaks.html

"In his debut novel, Goldblatt breaks taboos with a vengeance, telling the
first-person story of a 23-year-old black man, Africa Ali. Think Philip
Roth's Portnoy's Complaint, except instead of a Jewish man speaking to his
analyst, here a black man is recording a series of interviews with a (white)
sociologist. Goldblatt's rendering of black urban street idiom seems
flawless, but the author's chutzpah in tackling this subject, in this
in-your-face way, is even more impressive."
*****************************************

This is Gregs favorite tactic. Always.

Cant attack the message or the facts, so he attempt's to smear the
messenger, and he does so by taking one little bit of something Goldblatt
wrote, quote it completely out of context, in an attempt to slander someone
telling the truth and beating the moonbats like a piece of cheap meat.

Greg is Jewish, as is Goldblatt, so it would seem Greg has more in common
with Goldblatt then he is comfortable with, but Goldblatt isnt a
pettifogger, a bald faced liar, and he has a Ph.D.

> We're not discussing Mark Goldblatt's message, we're discussing the Bitch
> in the Ditch, who sounds more and more like Fishbreath's clone every day.

She is dumb as dirt, phoney as a 3 dollar bill, and has been fed all the
same far lefty mantra's as Greg, and is about as willingly used and duped.

What is even more revealing is that she didnt raise Casey, her first husband
did. The man and family who have been trying for years to distance
themselves from Cindy and her psychosis. After she got the leftist
controlled media eating out of her hand, her family and current husband made
very public efforts to distance themselves from her as far as possible.

Hence his volunteering to serve his nation, help to free the oppressed
Islamic people of Iraq and Afghanistan, and his volunteering to go out on
the QRF to rescue some of his fellow soldiers from an insurgent ambush when
he was killed in action.

She was only a mother to Casey when it was handy to use him as a podium,
like now.

Greg and Cindy provide comfort and support to the enemies of all free people
in Afghanistan, Iraq and in America.

> Did you have a comment as to any of her statements?

I never read a book by Mark Goldblatt (seems interesting Greg did), and dont
care if he is a pink and purple polka dotted homosexual Klansmen, but
apparently he is not; he is also not a far left socialist lying sack of
shit;

http://markgoldblatt.com/

"Mark Goldblatt is a novelist, columnist and book reviewer as well as a
college professor at Fashion Institute of Technology of the State University
of New York.

He earned a Ph.D. from the City University of New York, where he completed
his dissertation on the theological tensions that underlay the Protestant
Reformation in England.

Goldblatt's controversial first novel, Africa Speaks, was published in 2002
to glowing reviews from Kirkus, the Newark Star Ledger and Free
Williamsburg, a mixed review from Publishers Weekly, and no review
whatsoever from the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe or
the Los Angeles Times.
Goldblatt is perhaps best known as a political commentator. He has written
hundreds of opinion pieces for a combination of the New York Post, the New
York Times, USA Today, the Daily News, Newsday, National Review Online and
the American Spectator Online. Several of these essays have been
anthologized in standard college textbooks, Across Cultures and
Negotiations, and many more have been posted on popular web sites such as Ar
ts and Letters Daily, Jewish World Review and Free Republic. He has been a
guest on the Catherine Crier Show on Court TV and done dozens of radio
interviews for stations across the country and in England. His integrity has
been called into question by the Village Voice - which should count for
something.

Goldblatt's book reviews have appeared in Commentary, Reason Magazine, and
National Review, and he has written feature articles for Travel and Leisure
and the Westsider. His poetry has appeared in the journal Hellas, and his
fiction in the Webzine Ducts. His academic articles have appeared in
Philosophy Now, Academic Questions, Sewanee Theological Review, English
Renaissance Prose, Issues in Developmental Education 1999, the Encyclopedia
of Tudor England and the Dictionary of Literary Biography.

Goldblatt currently resides in midtown Manhattan, where he keeps a low
profile and varies his route to work often.

Nice to see the two of you are right on par...

"Thank God for the Internet, or we wouldn't know anything, and we would
already be a fascist state."

"Our government is run by one party, every level, and the mainstream media
is a propaganda tool for the government."

"Then we have this lying bastard, George Bush, taking a five week vacation
in a time of war. You know what? I'm never going to get to enjoy another
vacation because of him. My vacation probably -- this is really sad because
I have a really cute dress I was going to wear to the banquet tomorrow
night -- but I'm either going to be in jail or in a tent in Crawford,
waiting until that jerk comes out and tells me why my son died."

"You tell me the truth. You tell me that my son died for oil. You tell me
that my son died to make your friends rich. You tell me my son died to
spread the cancer of Pax Americana, imperialism in the Middle East."

"And if you think I won't say bulls**t to the President, I say move on,
cause I'll say what's on my mind."

"You get that evil maniac out here, 'cause a Gold Star Mother, somebody
whose blood is on his hands, has some questions for him."

"The biggest terrorist is George W. Bush."

"If he thinks that it's so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense
of freedom and democracy, then he needs to sign up his two little
party-animal girls. They need to go to this war."

"What can we do to get him out of power? And I'm gonna say the 'I' word:
Impeach. And we have to have everybody impeached that lied to the American
public, and that's the executive branch, and any people in congress, and we
got to go all the way down... to the person who picks up the dogs**t in
Washington because we can't let somebody rise to the top who will pardon
these war criminals. Because they need to go to prison for what they've done
in this world. We can't have a pardon. They need to pay for what they've
done."

"It's up to us, the people, to break immoral laws and resist. As soon as the
leaders of a country lie to you, they have no authority over you. These
maniacs have no authority over us. And they might be able to put our bodies
in prison, but they can't put our spirits in prison."

"Is there anyone in America who cannot yet see that Donald Rumsfeld is a
liar, that he -- as with Hitler and Stalin -- will say anything so long as
he thinks it will help shape the world to his own liking? Is there even one
sane adult among us who cannot see that Donald Rumsfeld is a threat to our
nation's security and to peace on our beloved earth?"

"Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was
killed for lies and for a PNAC [Project for the New American Century]
Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America,
not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full well that my son, my family, this
nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced
by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11."

"We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is
contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now."

"I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that
America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people...
since we first stepped on this continent; we have been responsible for death
and destruction. I passed on that bulls**t to my son, and my son enlisted.
I'm going all over the country telling moms this country is not worth dying
for."

"Our country has been overtaken by murderous thugs... gangsters who lust
after fortunes and power, never caring that their addictions are at the
expense of our loved ones, and the blood of innocent people near and far.
We've watched these thugs parade themselves before the whole world as if
they are courageous advocates for Christian moral values... and for the
spread of democracy. Yet we all know that they are now putting in place, all
across this country, a system of voting that provides no way to validate the
accuracy of the counting of the votes... and that, by its very design,
prohibits recounting the votes. Our loved ones have been buried in early
graves even as these arrogant thugs parade themselves before the entire
world, insisting that democracy is worth dying for, killing for, and
destroying entire cities for... In their secret hiding places, while
celebrating newly won fortunes with their fellow brass, these men must
surely congratulate themselves with orgies of carnal pleasure as they mock
the dwindling multitudes who are yet so blind as to mistake them for God's
devoted servants."

I don't have to agree with every view she has to be able to respect and
agree with her opinion of the war.

Just common sense. There's a lot of information out there. I'd rather
listen to reputable sources.

According to right-wingers, if it weren't for internet blogs, we wouldn't
know anything. The "truth" about the Iraq war, how all the Iraqis love us
and are much happier today under American occupation even if they don't have
electrical power or running water.

> "Our government is run by one party, every level, and the mainstream media
> is a propaganda tool for the government."

In a sense, our government is run by the Republican party. They have the
executive branch, a majority of the legislative branch, and a majority of
the judicial branch. Most mainsteam media is Republican-owned.

I though his vacation was "only" four weeks. Are you disputing that no
president has ever taken so much vacation time as George W. Bush? If
anything, you'd think a "war time" president would be working harder, not
less.

> "You tell me the truth. You tell me that my son died for oil. You tell me

I have no issue with these statements.

Good for her. I don't like the asterisks, though. Too hard to pronounce.

> "You get that evil maniac out here, 'cause a Gold Star Mother, somebody

Yep and yep. Bush is responsible for more innocent deaths than Bin Laden,
there's no doubt about that, he's evil, and he's a maniac. She forgot dumb.

> "If he thinks that it's so important for Iraq to have a U.S.-imposed sense

I second that notion. They'd look cute in camo. Maybe we could make them
Abu Graibh prison guards.

I don't think it's fair to pick on the guy who picks up the dogs**t, but the
rest of them need to go.

I break immoral laws all the time. I drove over 65 just yesterday.

[snip more good stuff]

This is the one I really liked, especially the last sentence. Very poetic.
Almost as poetic as Ward Churchill.

What part of "telling the story" or "novel" or "rendering" didn't you
understand, you freakin' idiot? They are indeed Goldblatt's words.

What, telling the truth? I'll admit to that.

Now even you admit it's Goldblatt's words. How was it taken out of context?

According to Goldblatt's own website, his dissertation was on the
theological tensions that underlay the Protestant Reformation in England.
Obviously that gives him the background he needs to satirize black people.
How can I disagree since I have a mere JD?

What I do find especially funny, is that Goldblatt's site also says he's a
professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology. According to FIT's
website, he's an assistant professor of Educational Skills. "The
Educational Skills Department's purpose is to help develop such skills for:
English as a Second Language students; Students whose first language is
English and who need to improve their skills for college-level work". So
he's a glorified ESL teacher to students of menswear, jewelry design, and
cosmetics and fragrance marketing (some of the academically intensive degree
programs taught that that prestigious school). That sure impresses me.

Why do you put apostrophes in all your plurals? It makes you look even
dumber.

Oh, this is so easy. Look up "rube" the next time you find a dictionary.

"The piece quoted above, criticizing Ms. Sheehan's alleged lack of
involvement in her son's upbringing after divorcing his father, is something
fabricated out of whole cloth, evidently the product of someone's confusing
a completely different family with the Sheehans. Cindy Sheehan and her
husband, Patrick, were high school sweethearts who wed while both were in
their early 20's and who have been married to each other for over 28 years.
(Neither has ever been married to anyone else.) The couple had four children
together, of whom Casey was the oldest. Both parents raised Casey together,
first in the southern California community of Norwalk and later in the
northern California town of Vacaville, where the Sheehans moved when Casey
was 14."

Now tell us again how John Kerry wounded himself to get a silver star.

Sure. It's always handy to use a dead kid. I bet she was ecstatic that her
son got killed so she could use him as a podium and get her 15 minutes of
fame.

Assistant professor, really. Teaching English to clothing majors.

A doctor of theology? Do you call him doc or just watch your back when you
bend over to change the incense?

Should the L.A. Times read every racist book written by a Fashion Institute
of Technology assistant professor of ESL?

Maybe the Washington Times would review it. I bet the good reverend will
appreciate how Goldblatt mocks Koreans in his next book, "We No Use
Chopstick to Eat Cat".

Perhaps he should get a gun so he wouldn't have to live in fear.
