I told ya.

I ran out of these things >>>>>>>>>>

On my responses.

How do I get more, or do I need a new hard drive?

Seems when I reply to some posts, I get no demarcation symbols, or
whatever you call them.

Not my area but, it depends on whether the person ur responding to has
demarcation symbols set up:
For OE go to Tools, Options, Send, News sending format should be set as
Plain Text. Under Plain Text Options, you can set your reply using indent
style.
If yours are set like this, then the problem is with the person ur replying
to.
Froggy, for example, doesn't have them set. ;0)

I'll take the Fifth.

Regarding the whatyoucallit, I don't know why they disappeared.

I'm posting via google groups (I cannot be bothered with installing a
proper e-mail program, much less a newsreader). If anyone has a clue on
how to fix this, I'll gladly take it.
