Default To Protect And Serve?

Proof that one should be responsible for their own safety and not assume
that the cops are going to protect or save you...

Or proof that the Tampa police have to work on their hiring and
training standards.

Probably same training book that had the Houston police kill someone who was
trying to commit suicide a few years back...

Hmmmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmm.

What happened to that "let's not jump to conclusions" attitude you had
when the Mounties -blatently- screwed up?

Next time I remind you of the double standards that you continually deny,
here's an -ironclad- example of it.

Not to mention -------->another<--------- ~world class~ example of your
lack of understanding of firearms.

I'd explain it, but I have so. many. times. now it's just not worth it.

You're reaching way too hard on that one. I'm being perfectly
consistent here. Grumman jumped to the conclusion "that one should be
responsible for their own safety and not assume that the cops are
going to protect or save you." and I suggested an alternative
interpretation. Lee suggested perhaps both are correct.

Seems to me you're the one jumping to conclusions, like this notion
that I have a "world class ... lack of understanding of firearms"
when what I really have is a huge (perhaps worldclass) failure to
comprehend this love affair some of you have with guns. By themselves
most guns are relatively simple pieces of machinery (outside of the
high tech tricksy wartoys) and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to
understand the inherent dangers.

What's to know? They go boom (which I suspect is a large part of their
charm for most folks) and a nasty little projectile comes out the end.
It can hurt you, real bad. Don't look down that little hole. Don't aim
the little hole at anything you don't want to hit. Don't play with
loaded guns. Don't let little kids and idiots have access to them. How
complicated is that?

You left off "when someone pulls the trigger.".
Very, very rarely do they go off by themselves, and its even rarer when they
aim themselves then go off.
Of course, just try convincing the antis of that.
And "if yoiu plan to carry, get the proper training.

Ironclad.

No jumping there.

We've been trying to explain it to you for years.

Check.

>Lee suggested perhaps both are correct.

I suspect that Mike and Lee were pointing out that the woman should have
defended herself.

If they were pointing out any malfeasance by the police, they were,
simply,

Wrong.

-Your- opinion that that the cops should have "shot the gun out of the
villain's hand" -just like- on Charlie's Angels is preposterous.

The felon was shooting at the cops with a shotgun.

They shoot back, probably while running away, or -die-.

Too fuckin bad for the woman.

Simple as that.

She was doomed by the kidnapper, not the cops defending their lives.

Shit just happens.

But I can see how someone as determined as you to become a hostage could
sympathize with her.

That statement, is in itself, another world class example of your lack of
understanding.

Thanks for making my point even further.

And that relates to the situation that we're discussing that you chose to
add your hypocritical comments to in what way?

I'd say that's 33%-66% grossly incorrect.

As much as I love JOF, the problem is pious ignorance.
