| Report: Serious Crimes In Twin Cities Increase Dec 31, 2005 1:32 pm US/Central (AP) Minneapolis The number of serious crimes in Minnesota's two largest cities rose in 2005, according to newly released statistics. The increase was due largely to robberies and aggravated assaults in Minneapolis and auto thefts and commercial burglaries in St. Paul, preliminary statistics released last week showed. Serious crimes include the violent crimes of homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. They also include property crimes such as burglary, theft and arson. In Minneapolis, aggravated assaults jumped 23 percent and robberies, 22 percent, while homicides fell to 49 in 2005 from 55 in 2004. http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_365143316.html |
