| Hi Everyone, We are in the process of arranging a dive expedition to Asia (Philippines/Malaysia) in April/May 2006 to dive some WW2 wrecks. Unfortunately I can't post a lot of details at this stage and will give more details to interested people. The duration is approximately 2 weeks. During WW2 many spectacular battles took place in the seas around Philippines & Malaysia. At present we are considering a wreck which is lying at +/- 130m, which has never been dived before. The main dives will be between +/- 110m and 130m. The certification required for the main dives are Expedition Trimix, preferably on Rebreather, unless you have a lot of money to blow on Helium for open circuit. If you wish to penetrate the wreck (not always possible on sunken battle ships), you also need a Technical Wreck Diver certification. However, if you are a well experienced Tech Diver and want to participate, we have a couple of slots open for support divers. As a support diver you will have the option of getting the next certification in your training and will be diving within your experience & certification depths, providing support to the deeper divers. Once again my apology for not being able to post more info. Usually these expeditions are kept under wraps until after the fact. I can assure you this will be a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience. Me or my company are not making any money on these trips, we do these expeditions for the experience and publicity. The expedition may be covered by a TV crew and you may have chance to be on TV as well :) - no promises on that, we do not control the TV content and the Director will interview whom ever he wants. If you are interested or have questions, please post in the group and I will respond. Regards, TD |
