Default Deep diving and PRESSURE

Hi.

This may sound dumb, but it's been bugging me for a while and I just
have to ask... so I decided to come here, and well this is it:

Can people dive to 300 feet/100 meters where the pressure is like 10
atmospheres (or 1 million pascals/147 pounds per square inch/1 decent
_anvil_ per square INCH), given the proper breathing mix? If so, what
does all that pressure feel like? Like being inside a vice? How come
they don't get crushed into little wads by it?

Thanks for the answer. Just what I was looking for.

It's a joke Mike. Look at some of the other threads. You'll get the
gist.

Looked at 10 other threads. Didn't get it... at least I don't think I
did.
However, I did see a message were similar "rough" language was

The reason that it is a joke is that in this group, it doesn't seem to take
long before someone is telling you to fuck off. How you handle this tends
to be a good indicator of how well you will fit in with the group. I
wouldn't necessarily say that this group is filled with Type "A"
personalities, but they are often closer to Type "A" than Type "B".

A few here do it just to get it over with.

Very observant.

I think that's a fair statement, but I think there are probably more Type
B's than is immediately obvious. Us A's tend to make a point of leaving
room for them. On the whole, they're some of the most knowledgeable and
most important members of the group. We've lost a lot almost every time we
lose one of them.
