| All - To anyone traveling by air with SCUBA gear over the next few weeks - I'd appreciate any reports regarding experiences with TSA et. al in re: getting your gear through security, given the "hightened" state of affairs. I'm going later this month and am now debating whether or not to take the Ikelite housing with the light and battery pack etc. (I think I'll be lucky enough to get my Pro Plus 2 past the random gate searches etc.). I guess I won't be able to take my "mask defogger" in my carry-on! Oh well. <sigh> Thanks. ____________________________________________ Regards, Arnold |

Oh well. <sigh> I would be less concerned about putting my gear in checked baggage if I actually *trusted* the baggage handlers and inspectors not to steal anything...Too bad that Bush didn't have the balls to follow my suggestion -- nuke the whole fuckin' Middle East... He said that it might give us a bit of a PR problem and the rest of the world might not like us... And that is different than now, exactly how??? I've found that these days, I take commercial flights quite a bit less... If I can drive there within a day, I'll probably do it instead of flying... |

Suggestion 1.) Don't pack a bomb in your suitcase. Suggestion 2.) Ditto drugs. |

I was under the impression that a person was born in South Louisiana with a beer bottle in one hand and a church key in the other... <grin> So, where you go diving around there? The rigs? How far out do you have to go before you get acceptable visibility and depth? |

Maybe a new kind of Nuke/Fuel Hybrid.... Could be cool.... One of the best people that I know in this world, is originally from Pakistan. He's been living in Canada for 30 years or so. His wife is a lovely, lovely person, who is a real artist in her own right. She was born in Florida and most of her relatives are still living there, except for her parents who both died in the past year+/-, separately from one another but still while at their retirement property on Sanibel Island. (I''m not saying this well . . . but before her mom passed, mom went through both Hurricane Katrina and Wilma). Mike caught a flight today for LA. He'll be connecting with his oldest daughter who is attending university there. But his real reason for going is business related. Before any of that happens, as well as, on his way home, he's going to be grilled harder than any of us whiteys. However, as he said to me, he accepts his fate and appreciates it, because he just wants everyone to be safe. |
