Actually God told me. You don't think He limits Himself to conversations with Bush and Pat Robertson, do you? "They're mostly a liberal bunch. Yet the would-be chairmen in a House under Democratic control promise to rule from the center. They'd have little choice, given the likely balance of power they would confront if elected. George W. Bush would still occupy the Oval Office, and no one thinks Democrats could win control of the House by more than a few seats next month. And that would include three dozen or more moderate "blue dog" Democrats." ""If Charlie Rangel were to be chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, he would put at risk ... some of the best economic policy this nation has seen in a long time," said Vice President Cheney in an interview with Time magazine." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061019/...ratic_chairmen But the Republicans still have the fear card. They may be down, very low down, but they ain't out yet: "The Republican Party will begin airing a hard-hitting ad this weekend that warns of more cataclysmic terror attacks against the U.S. homeland. The ad portrays Osama bin Laden and quotes his threats against America dating to February 1998. "These are the stakes," the ad concludes. "Vote November 7." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061019/.../republican_ad Hopefully a majority of Americans won't fall for that crap this time around. They've seen now that Republicans only make matters worse. |

| Thanks for the reply and trying to enlighten me to your position. It seems like you are describing what the Democrats will do once they are in and what the Republicans will do in the closing days of the campaign. But, going back to my original question, how do you know they will win. I am just asking out of curiosity as you are the first liberal that I get a chance to discuss this with. Again, thanks.
