| 3 dead in Edmonton nightclub shooting Last Updated: Sunday, October 29, 2006 | 9:03 AM ET CBC News Three men were killed and another seriously wounded after a shooting early Sunday at an Edmonton nightclub, police said. A staff member at the lounge called police just before 2:30 a.m. MT to report that several shots had been fired, Edmonton Police Service spokesman Jeff Wuite said. The shootings took place at the Red Light Lounge, a few blocks from busy Jasper Avenue. (CBC) "We found two adult males deceased on the scene. Several more people were injured," he said. "Those injured parties were taken to hospital where one adult male did succumb to his injuries shortly after arriving." A fourth person remains in hospital in serious condition, Wuite said. "More than 20 witnesses are currently being interviewed by both our gang unit and homicide unit," Wuite said. "Their investigation is now fully under way." Police have made no arrests, but Wuite said their investigators have "pretty good leads." -- Popeye "If one does as God does enough times, one will become as God is." -Dr. Hannibal Lector. www.finalprotectivefire.com |

"We don't see things like this on a regular basis in Edmonton. Needless to say, we pulled out all the stops and have invested a lot of resources in getting to the bottom of this," Jeff Wuite, a spokesman for the Edmonton Police Service, told CTV News. <snip> This isn't the first time a nightclub has been the scene of a deadly crime. On June 18 Robert Rieger became Edmonton's 10th victim of the year after being gunned down outside the King's Knight Pub. The 37-year-old was an associate of the Hell's Angels. Two days later, a gang-related shooting at Laser Karaoke Express killed 19-year-old Shawn Michael Yalowica. And earlier this month, on Oct. 6, 28-year-old Vernando Stobbs was killed in the parking lot of the Gingur Sky club in the west end. The local dancer was the 27th homicide victim of 2006. The triple homicide marks Edmonton's 30th, 31st, and 32nd murders of this year. ************************* http://shorterlink.com/?LHO3X4 Although northern residents experienced higher levels of violent victimization than did provincial residents, they were more likely to report feeling safe from crime. **************************** http://shorterlink.com/?GG7PHB |

I don't think it has anything to do with any of those things. If he sticks his head in the sand, or up his ass, those are reason enough to cough. JF |

Must've been those bad ass hockey players Francis talks about, 5 guys couldn't kick his ass so they knifed him. No plate stepper-uppers available that day, I guess. |

Have you some private police source that keeps you filled in on the details of their crime investigations, or are you just content to jump to unfounded conclusions? JF |
