It's easy in Agent. The RE will work with just the domain name. I
delete everything in the sender field except for the domain and it
works just fine.

I've seen cases where they changed the domain name, but the Message ID
still had the same substring... Some of the anonymous fucks are
spoofing the "From" field, but they aren't spoofing the Message ID
field... I've got them blocked out in Agent, but it took more rules to
do it than it did with Pan...

Don't give them any ideas. I get spam daily from some seller of useless
stocks. Every one of them is an image file. No text in them at all. Every
one appears to come from a different source and every one of them comes with
a different subject line. So far, I've had no luck at all killing them.

Get a gmail address. Gmail slays them.

Let me know if you want an invite.

I've never noticed that the domain changes and that's all I put in (not the full address). Anyway,
it's easy enough to add new entries so anytime a new domain pops up I just throw it in there.

Every once in awhile, one of those slips through Gmail, but then I'll
use the Gmail web interface and click on the Report Spam button...
Over time, it seems that I get less of them...

I have a G mail address. I don't know how or when to use it. I wonder if
anyone writes to it.

Basically, you need to start using it and quit using your other email
addresses... Most of us just see the email address that you have
listed on your newsgroup posts and use it -- possibly removing the '2'
from the end of your account name if we happen to remember it... I
determined awhile back that when I was working out of town and having
different ISPs, it really wasn't worthwhile to use the email account
that my ISP provided... Periodically, I'll look in my houston.rr.com
account, but the only thing that ends up there these days is spam...
RoadRunner does not have a spam filter, so *everything* ends up in the
inbox... When I use one of my Linux systems to check mail in that
account, the mail program on it filters the spam very well... So well
that I'll end up with a couple hundred emails in the spam folder /
trash and none in the inbox...

That's a bit of a hassel, particularly since I correspond quite a bit with
those who have my bellsouth and netcom addresses. Slowly, but surely, I'm
weeding out those I want to hear from that still have the netcom address.
Then there's my official address, the one I rarely use for anything outside
the government. The government is not real understanding of porn that shows
up on their systems, even when the recipient had no desire to receive it.
Using a G-mail account, or a Yahoo account, etc. would simply complicate
everything even further. When things get bad enough, I may try.

Which is as I intended. That's a real e-mail address, it's just not my
primary one. Anything going to that address is segregated into a spamtrap
folder. I look for people I want to hear from before deleting messages, but
don't look as often, or as closely, as I do when messages come to my primary
account. I could change the address further, but so far, it's been a
reasonable compromise between blocking all private mail that comes from
newsgroups and getting all the spam that comes as a result of my
particpation in them.

I figure that anyone who can't figure out how to un-obfuscate my email
address that I use for newsgroup postings probably isn't someone whose
email really needs to be read anyway... <grin> Unfortunately, if I'm
posting from Google Groups, I don't have the option to obfuscate my
email address unless I just create a new Gmail account explicitly for
newsgroup communication and never check the email in there... That
kind of defeats the desired action of letting the email bounce back to
the sender if they make a mistake and just reply to a newsgroup
posting via email without checking for obfuscations in the email
address... Oh well... Nothing's perfect I guess...
