Frans, I dove the Salem Express in the summer of 2001, but nobody told me
the history of the wreck before dropping us on it. Had I known I would have
passed on a diving a wreck so soon after hundreds (possibly more than a
thousand) had perished on it. I understand the wrecks we dive may have a
history of death, but that specific situation was just way to soon after the
tragedy. Brothers, sisters, parents, friends and and children of those who
died are mostly all still alive and grieving.
