| Will be in Egypt this coming week, and will be spending 4 days in Sharm El Sheikh. Have had a look around at dive shops in that area but the number of centres is overwhelming. Any suggestions, recommendations or comments on past experiences with dive shops in this area? are there any dive centres I should look out for, or are they all as good as each other? also, any good sighseeing in and around Sharm El Sheikh? thanks, Cris "keep the bubbles flowing" |

| Hi, Regarding diving, make sure that you will dive in Ras Mohamed; They will ask you 6 $ for entering the National Park, but the best dive spots in Sharm are there. Also nice to do, the dives on Tyran Islands. Regarding dive centers, we are used to dive with Valerie and Sebastien, from Absolute Divers http://www.al-maya.com/, They get mainly French divers, but speak good English, and will pick you up at your hotel. But I guess that most centers in Naama Bay are OK. Regarding touring, the tradition is Mont St Catherine, with the old monastery, and Canyon Coloré (Colored canyon), which is a very nice 3 hours walk. Also nice to do: the visit of the old Sharm city. This is at about 10 km away from the Namaa Bay tourist area. You take one of the small busses on the main road (they stop when they see you), and they will take you to Sharm for 1 or 2 Egyptian pounds (about 50 cents). This is a very typical Arabic city, and absolutely safe.
