Default Solihull diver in decompression chamber in Egypt expected to foot £40k bill

Tonights Express and Star (Midlands paper)

Solihull man's LloydTsb insurance policy refuse to pay out for £40k's
worth of decompression treatment as 'he had gone below their small print
of 30M'.Hospital says he has 'type 2 bends' and needs up to 3 weeks
treatment at 6 hours per day , and £344 per hour

Family say he was 'highly experienced advanced open water diver' and
'qualified to go far deeper than this' but 'probably didn't know of the
small print'. (AOW limit is 30M, 40M with 'Deep' speciality done).

Tour company says he was down at 49.5M immediately before his problem.

This happened Monday, it was on the television news 2 days ago.

It's only becoming newsworthy because the family want the insurance
company to pay out, when clearly they are not obliged to.

Moral.... read the small print, or get someone to explain it to you.

Based on this, can anyone recommend a good diving insurance policy?

Thanks.
