We flew from Brisbane to Fiji, and we stayed at The Hideaway Resort over a
new year, we had no pre planned diving arranged, i think that it would be
best to arrange before in hindsight, we had seen brochures for one
particular dive op that was located along the coast at Pacific Harbour, a
taxi collected us on the morn of diviing, when we arrived at the "dive
center" it looked like it had been abandoned twenty years before, the pool
was all dried up, no office to speak of, not kit to be seen.....any way a
dive guide appeared, and after a while we got on a "ok" boat......did some
nice dives that day, but check out the dive ops before you go..........

Been twice. Trip reports here,

and here

http://www.pathcom.com/~bracuk/Trips/Fiji2004.htm.

If it were my trip, I'd find a resort right on the water with an
on-site dive shop. I just don't like spending my vacation time
looking for entertainment suppliers, I prefer to do that in advance.

Absolutely, especially there.
Pacific Harbour looked a beautiful place, kinda like Playa Del Carmen.
