| While we won't experience the wind and massive destruction Florida experienced, they are calling for heavy rain and flooding. Fortunately I live on fairly high ground but others may not be quite so fortunate. The weather forcasters in the area are calling for us to receive 5" or more of rain with some areas getting 10" or more. In 1985 we got hit with a massive flood in this area so we are bracing to see what happens. I know the folks in Florida are glad to see the storm out of their area. As the storm approached the mainland, I was watching the projected path and it seemed the longer it stalled in the Florida area, the more the projected path brought it into my area. I guess the main effect it will have on me, is the liklihood of getting called into work. Andy |

Nov. 12-16, planning to dive Sat. 11/13 and Sun. 11/14 and even Mon. 11/15 if there are any boats going out or maybe I'll drive north then for a gear-soaking in fresh water. I'm staying in Ft. Lauderdale, probably planning to dive a day off Pompano and another off Boynton, preferably four dives a day, maybe even a night dive if I can hold off from the bar that long. Dennis will be there, I'm told, and L. Dave too. It's always good to have an off-duty cop around to keep the peace in case Curtis comes down looking for another arm, provided, of course, that I can afford the bar tab for an off-duty cop. |

I might just try and make it. I have to start scheduling court dates NOW if I am going to be able to make it. Just gotta make certain I have no other conflicts (domestic-wise). > > I'm staying in Ft. Hey....I'm easy, but not cheap. FWIW, "Frances" has arrived. As I write this, we have gotten 4.36" of rain since midnight. Lots of low lying areas flooding and some evacuations. Just heard of a storm about 20 miles south of here with 60mph winds. > > |
