Cool! But I meant if you are already in Spain for business, you could tack
on a vacation.

That's for sure, but Madrilanos do that. Apparently, 5:30 can be a bit
early for them to come home from a club on the weekend.

As I understand it, they don't start work until 10 am. Sounds great to me .
.. oh yes, and then there are the long lunches for having a nap.

True, and it has been something that we've been thinking about doing,
but simply not being able to have the stars allign to do it. There's
extra complexity in paperwork if I take off even one day, so unless
I'd be able to add a reasonable amount of time (and M to be able to
fly over to be with me), I'd just as much assume just buy my own
ticket and schedule it all on my own terms.

We were finished with our morning coffee and into our meetings each
day by 9am, so I guess we were with the Spaniard workaholics

Perhaps, but in fairness, I must tell you that it was a taxi driver in
Madrid that told me work doesn't start until 10 am. He may have had it
wrong, or I may very well have misunderstood him. Like I said "as I
understand it". He didn't speak any English and so I was having quite a
time following him as he gave me the guided tour and cultural advice as we
proceeded to the airport for my flight to Barcelona.

Could be merely that the taxi drivers don't get an early start on the
day, having made their money on the overnight. <grin>

Sorry for the delay...for some reason Google lists your post in the
thread, but won't display it. Had to go back to the old school.
