| My daughter and I are hoping to squeeze in some diving during a trip to Mougins in July. Does anyone have a recommendation for a dive shop or any good dive sites in the Nice vicinity? TIA Bart F. |

| I guess it is a question of what you are used to. I don't think there's much good diving in the Med. because there certainly isn't a lot of fish life or so two of my friends tell me. You'll probably also have to figure out if your C card works there because PADI isn't recognized as far as I can tell. FFESSM is the French national scuba accrediting agency and it is a member of CMAS. CMAS accepts only one agency from each country and the US agency is SSI. Then again rules aren't always enforced. Take a look at these links: http://www.cmas2000.org/ http://membres.lycos.fr/epaj/home_f.htm http://www.ffessm.fr/ If you're willing to drive a little east to Italy, http://www.pianetablu.com/en/index.php I'm also not sure about rental gear. When I was in Mougins about 10 years ago it had a remarkable collection of two and three Michelin star restaurants. It's called Club Sous L'Eau, and the diving is nice. |

| If you are willing to drive about 100 km (about 60 miles; in July near Nice, count in "hours" not in km or miles...), go to Cavalaire dive with Arnaud Niel, "Eau Bleue": Les Pléiades - Avenue des Myrtes 83240 Cavalaire - France Tél.: +33 (0)6 08 23 72 51 http://www.aquanaute.com/eau.bleue He is NAUI, TDI, ANMP and FFESSM instructor> Nice wrecks, if you like. Contact him in advance to organize your trip. JPh nobody wrote: > My daughter and I are hoping to squeeze in some diving during a trip to > Mougins in July.
