| I recently purchase a set of Aqualung "Blades Felx II" fins... updated from my older Cressi "Pro Lights" (Rondine)... I've now noticed I often get crapms in my thighs during the dive, and also fairly sore ankles towards the end of the dives... I'm 5'6" and way about 140lbs...so not sure if this means the Blades are possibley too stiff a fin for me..? The old Cressi's were pretty good...but I had major trouble getting them off (with my Mares tri-lastic boots), and also with my Tusa tropic boots...hence the change in Fin... The blades are a cinch to don & doff...and love the quick release buckles etc... but all that aside...I want a fins that works for me in the water... Any recomendations please ? P.S. just O.W. cert...doing fun boat and shores dives every month or so ( hopefully more in the warmer months). BC |

You might consider a split fin design for your next pair, as they greatly reduce leg fatigue, and are generally as quick and powerful as non-split. Also, spring straps are available for virtually every type of fin release, if not at your local dive shop, check some online vendors. Blake (OWSI) |

Blake (OWSI) Yeah, ended up buying pair of Apollo Bio-Fins.. read so many positive reviews on those split fins..I decided I'd give them a go..Got a great price on them too...so if they don't work out for me..I guess I could just resell them... thanks for your input.. |

Split fins definately made a difference for me, I was having the exact same probem with those fins. I bought a paire of Aeris Velocity XP fins and never looked back. Less cramping and if you kick them right, better thrust. |
