Here, what I picked up on was the change in supply to China. The M9 problems also resulted from a change in supplier, which introduced IIRC a trace of silica, which ultimately was determined to have been the embrittlement problem causing material failure. Now I'm not saying that the Luxfer tanks have a silica contamination (although it would probably be interesting to check), but rather that the problem is probably rooted in what we thought were unimportant "other/misc" elements that were not being measured and/or controlled by the material specification. -hh |
