| If you ask me, the OMS singles wing and the new Koplin singles wings can't come out soon enough. The Halcyon wing is fine but there's nothing magical about it. It's just a wing. And it's really damned expensive at that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the OMS wing if I got a good deal on it. As it is, I got a good deal on the Pioneer, but I've no loyalty to Halcyon. -Jon "Charlie Haber" <charlie@habergroup.com> wrote in message news:_8pOa.1575$EC6.778663@news4.srv.hcvlny.cv.net ... > I have the opportunity to get some OMS gear at a discount. | I don't know what you mean by trolling, but I am looking at buying a BP/Wing combo and was told by a friend that he can get me OMS stuff from an LDS that he works for. My last dive I rented the Halcyon stuff and was look for real feedback, not stupid ass insults "AirHog" <mickey@stevespencerismybitch.com> wrote in message news:oppOa.2$DF6.0@fe04.atl2.webusenet.com... > > Thanks for the feedback. > > You asked for feedback you have it. > > OMS is beyond fucking pale no matter who they hire. | No you putz, I don't work for OMS, I'm just doing a lot of research on their site. I was a bit suspicious about their blatant attacks on Halcyon. It seems desparate. | You must be new. Hog is our self proclaimed GUE Halcyon spokes person. Or self proclaimed flaming queer. Actually he's both and GUE would like to ditch him like a bad case of the craps. He comes with a dress and fuck me boots as wore at previous DIR demo's. Be advise adding him to your kill file will not get rid of him. As be careful he posts to himself under many names. Hang around a while and you'll catch on. Last guy tried to drag him over Niagara Falls in a sack, but failed. The main difference between H and OMS. Is OMS roots are in harsh cold salt water off New Jersey (wreck diving). H roots are in warm fresh calm water caves in N Florida. As far as durability about the same now a days. Choice is yours to compare face to face. H does make some crap like their lift bags. (it has been cover here) As for name calling. There's a war going on out there. Gue & H are going after market share and getting it. Whether they are the best remains to be seen. Padi has controlling market share in sport diving. Are they the best? Around here if you pulled out a Padi card you'd get laughed at. As for GUE there is about 99% posers around here and all the do is give it a bad name. Around here so far they are kinda looked upon as the PADI of tech diving. By around here I refer to SE Ontario Steve "Charlie Haber" <charlie@habergroup.com> wrote in message news:wJMOa.13023$EC6.6123966@news4.srv.hcvlny.cv.n et... > No you putz, I don't work for OMS, I'm just doing a lot of research on their > site. I don't care for the way OMS crosses the straps above the shoulders... tends to pinch the back of the neck... a big deal with a latex seal on a drysuit, but the plate can be rigged normally. As far as the wings, my requirements are a short inflator hose (just long enough to pass through the bungee on my left d-ring), 30-45 pounds lift, a lower OPV on the diver-side of the wing, bottom left, no shoulder pull-dump, and no bungees. If OMS makes a wing that fits those requirements, I would not have a problem with diving it. Given equal choice and price between the two companies, I'd opt for Halcyon simply because of OMS's blatant public attacks on Halcyon. I see they have corrected their "backplate" page... when that page first appeared, "CE" (Canadian Extreme) was clearly visible in the channel of the backplate. Maybe they were trying to be fair to Halcyon and show another manufacturer's equipment? Maybe CE saw it and asked them to remove it? Dunno. --- Rich http://richlockyer.tripod.com/ |

I think Halcyon started it, OMS just upped the anti by mentioning them by name. Halcyon has had pictures of OMS bungee wings on their site for quite a while for the purpose of attacking them. It's all just standard marketing in today's society.....better ingredients, better pizza. On the wing I'd go with Halcyon simply because they've had a good singles wing the longest and have had time to "work the bugs out". James |

I have no affiliation whatsoever with any brand of equipment and openly support none. I own products from each of these companies. Of course, we know what happens when I post your outrageous lies and bullshit to the mothership, don't we? You ass raping student killer. > He comes with a dress and fuck me boots as wore at previous DIR demo's. > Be advise adding him to your kill file will not get rid of him. > As be careful he posts to himself under many names. > Hang around a while and you'll catch on. Sarong. Skirt like if you will. But then again you have never been with anything with a dress on. And I do not wear boots. Once again--if you had any sense on how to properly work a killfile......cite. cite one post where I have ever posted to myself. > Last guy tried to drag him over Niagara Falls in a sack, but failed. We know that was you trying again to dispose of another dead student's body. You killing one a month yet? All of the above from an idiot who has my dick in his mouth at all times, except when it is in daughters mouth. Of course doing your daughter requires full cave certification. AirHog |
