I have 3 of the Oxycheq Expeditions -- great units.

I had one. It worked fine. It was accurate, reliable and easy to carry and
use. Sensor and battery life were designed to be about the same, a couple
of years if I recall correctly. The biggest problem with them is that they
are disposable. When the battery or sensor dies, you toss the unit and buy
another. I replaced mine with a unit that allowed me to replace sensors and
batteries. My current unit is an Analox.

There's a new Analox out that looks like it may be easier to use than mine.
It's a pistol grip affair with a display that, for a change, seems to be
easily seen in normal use of the analyzer.

More or less. Since the sensor is actually reading the PPO2 of the gas,
pressure of the gas matters. To be most accurate, it should be calibrated
at the same pressure as the gas to be measured. Generally, however, it's
possible to keep the pressure of the gas being measured low enough to be
comparable to 1ata, making calibrating it in air a good enough method for
most people's needs.
