Pam gave me a new pair of "sea socks" for Christmas 2001 but I think I can still get at least one more season out of my old ones if I keep rotating through the three remaining. The fourth just fell off, I guess. It's on a "holy quest". -- Doc _(:)0 "I'm hiding in Honduras, I'm a desperate man, Send Lawyers, Guns & Money...The sh*t has hit the fan" -Warren Zevon |

I stopped in there once to get a repair on my present suit. I know at least one person who was pleased with what they have to offer. Lee |

All the good custom suit makers have gone out of business. Thanks in part to divers who get a great fit over the internet. |

I've always bought my wetsuits from local stores (or at least they were local to where I was at that time [e.g. while on a diving vacation])... I would think that the reason that more people are able to get off the rack fits for wetsuits is that the manufacturers are providing a greater assortment of sizes these days... It used to be that if one needed a really large wetsuit, one was assumed to be rather tall also... These days, I've seen manufacturers advertising XXL (and larger), but for divers less than 6 ft tall... Although I might have liked a custom wetsuit, I'm not willing to pay the extra money for it when an off the rack one fits me well enough... For me, there is also the issue of finding a wetsuit that I'm not allergic to either the glue, neoprene, or lining... |

I only wear that 3/5 rubber suit from when it's truly cold (below 78 degrees). I have a polar fleece for 78-88. Above 88, I use and will continue to accent my shape and skin tone in what you deign to call the "orange horror". Once again, G.F.Y. I will have you know that the suit that you covet (supposedly for your museum but more likely to stuff with leaves for a Halloween lawn decoration) was traded from those unsuspecting Rooskies in Baikonur for a mere bundle of cable ties. They doubled down on me when I tossed in a 10 pack of rubber electrical tape... and I got TWO of these stylish suits. What ESG lusts for is seen (the h.d. version) at htt://www.collectemtoday.com/cosmonaut_suvival_suit.html They never even guessed about their submarine. -- Doc _(:)0 "I'm hiding in Honduras, I'm a desperate man, Send Lawyers, Guns & Money...The sh*t has hit the fan" -Warren Zevon |
