| Gang, During the move I have been really lucky/unlucky. When I plugged my 'puter back in last Friday, my hard drive died. I replaced the hard drive and the modem died. I replaced the modem and the graphics card died. Then my motherboard (ASUS A7V333) went the way of the dodo, wouldn't boot due to a permanent clocking error. Due to the huge influx of boxes into the tech guys, thanks to the blaster worm, they have a 5 to 7 day backlog. So, I introduced the "F" factor, and bought a new box (that only took 3 days to sort out). I missed the blaster worm (had all the patches on disk), but that and the other recently released virus' have wasted my accounts at hctc. I had over 1900 messages on the server, and as of 17:00 hours tonight, all were deleted from the server. Most were infected with virii, which used my website and the address' there to propagate, and loop back, filling my in box with infected messages. After my ISP guru and I spent a couple hours trying to figure out what to do, as the messages kept stacking up, we dumped everything, and re-loaded the website and all my isp info. So, long story made long, if you have tried to contact me since last Wednesday, the 13th, I will not get anything you sent. Since the move I have a new e-mail address: scottk at localaccess dot com If you need to get a hold of me, call my cell: 360-996-0109. If we dont answer, please leave a message. Scott |

| welcome back. I kept wondering when you were going to just get a new machine. :) "Scott" <scottk@hctc.com> wrote in message news:vk894v6j2i4b0c@corp.supernews.com... > Gang, > > During the move I have been really lucky/unlucky. I kept wondering when you were going to just get a new > machine. :) Shit, the old one was only a year old, and was top-o-da-line then... The new box is quite a bit faster (a gig of RAM and a 2.4 gig AMD Athlon), but I dont want to buy another one a year from now. I would, however, like to get my hands on one of these little creeps that put these virii out. They have cost me I-dont-know-how-many hours over the years. I bet they wouldnt think it was so funny and fun if they had to pay a few of the bills they create (not to mention being used for a substitute soccer ball for a couple minutes). Scott |
