Well, when I bought my huge honkin knife, I wish someone asked me wtf I needed it for. I didn't, and it was $70 wasted. I recently went to Wal Mart and bought 2 paring knives for 99 cents. I ground off the end of each of them, and they're great diving knives with 3.5" blades. They fit in the pouch that came with my EMT shears, but you can make your own out of webbing. Jon |

| I have one that I mainly use for dispatching large fish that have been speared. I mostly like it and unless I lose it, I imagine I will use it for a long time. One downside is that the straps for mounting it to my leg are a little short and it's pretty tight on me (I'm 6'4", 250# though). It came extremely sharp out of the box, but it appears that the edge has rolled over a little bit now. I haven't tried to sharpen it, and don't have any experience sharpening titanium so I don't know how that will go. I'm pretty sure a 5' amberjack would laugh at me though, if I tried to kill him with a blunt paring knife. :) "Sock" <jeffreyjamesmail@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:deacec63.0308251804.37e0f27b@posting.google.c om... > Need a new knife...want titanium, lightweight, no > disassembly...thinking of buying the Aquatec T-REX Titanium Knife. > > http://www.aquatecusa.com/t-rex.htm > > Anyone use it? Pros: * Its a knife and can cut things * Its very lighweight. Cons: * It looks very silly when its out of its shieth and scares the hell out of people if you wave it about. * Its pretty expensive (so buy something to tether it to you). I have it mounted on my BCD but found that the arm/leg straps are a little short (when I was thinking about wearing it on my leg). Nick |
